Diesel and Renzo Rosso 

Diesel's founder Renzo had an interest in fashion from a young age when he started sewing his own jeans at the age of 15. With the help of his mother's sewing machine, he began designing low-slung and flared jeans. He both used his self-made pants and sold them to his friends for about twenty crowns per pair. As he grew up, he entered an industrial textile school in Padua where he further developed. Just two years before Rosso founded Diesel, he got a job at the clothing manufacturer Moltex. After two years, he asked his father for a loan to buy 40% shares in Moltex, which later changed its name to Diesel. Soon after, Rosso also bought out Moltex founder Goldschmied's shares to become the sole owner of Diesel.
