The new AirPods provide a completely new experience of wireless headphones. Just take them out of the Lightning charging case, and they're ready to use with your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac.
With just one tap, the AirPods set everything up. It's a light, magical feeling. They turn on automatically and are always connected. The AirPods detect when you have them in your ears and pause when you take them out.
When you want to adjust the volume, change a song, make a call, or get directions, just say "Hey Siri" and tell her what you want. You can choose to use both AirPods or just one, and when listening to music or podcasts, you can start playback or skip forward with a double tap.
AirPods offer five hours of listening time and three hours of talk time on a single charge. And thanks to the Lightning charging case, you can use them even longer. The case provides multiple extra charges and a total listening time of over 24 hours. Need to charge your earphones quickly? 15 minutes in the charging case will give you three hours of listening or two hours of talk time.
AirPods are powered by the Apple H1 chip and are equipped with optical sensors and motion accelerometers that detect when you have them in your ears. Whether using both AirPods or just one, the H1 chip automatically directs the sound and activates the microphone. When talking on the phone or with Siri, a voice accelerometer works with beamforming microphones to filter out background noise and focus on your voice.
