How protective is it?
Let's face it, an eco-friendly phone case MUST also protect the phone from daily drops… what's the point otherwise? We've tested the Pela case beyond the usual risks where the phone falls out of the pocket, so you can be sure that the phone case does its job.
Materials
The Pela case is made of Flaxstic®, consisting of compostable bioplastic elastomer and flax straw material. Our material has been tested to be safe and free of phthalates, BPA, cadmium, and lead and has been verified to meet child safety standards in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Our base material meets US (ASTM D6400-04) and EU (EN 13432) standards for composting in an industrial composting facility and has a lower carbon footprint and lower greenhouse gas emissions than traditional plastic. It can also be left for biodegradation in a home composting environment.
Case design
Meticulously designed to protect your phone from drops and scratches just like any regular plastic case. Precision cuts around speaker, charger, volume, and other buttons. Carefully designed to embed the edges so that the front of your phone is protected. Soft and smooth to touch without extra bulk.
