The screen protector is a film based on a variant of urethane film. The material was originally developed for military use to reduce wear from sand on helicopter rotor blades.
As a protective film, it is optically clear and can be used in environments with UV exposure. The film is also designed to withstand both cold and heat as well as contact with oils and gasoline, and it is intended to resist abrasion from, among other things, stones.
